Estimator - DBS Job Description

General Description

Design Build Solutions (DBS), a Garland Industries company, is seeking an experienced in-house roofing estimator with roofing knowledge in commercial, industrial and government construction. Position will develop, manage, and execute the estimating activities.  The Estimator is a direct contributor to the profitability of the company by ensuring complete and accurate estimates. This person will work directly with the sales team, subcontractors, clients and corporate office.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 7-10 years commercial roof estimating experience
• Experience with Local, State, and Government level is a plus
• Must possess excellent skills in math, writing, public relations and communication, both written and oral
• Comprehensive understanding of single ply, built-up, modified, metal standing seam roof system and building envelope construction.
• Proficient in roof estimating software
• Read, interpret and accurately take-off construction drawings
• Working knowledge of Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing drawings
• Willingness to travel: Up to 25%

Job Responsibilities

• Produce estimates for budget and bidding purposes
• Prepare construction schedules
• Perform site visits
• Attend pre-bid meetings
• Work with sales team in the evaluation of roof systems and implementing options to meet client needs and cost requirements
