GreenShield Oasis soilless plant growth substrates can be used in both intensive and extensive vegetative roof systems, and contain enough organic content to get the plants through their first growing season. They can then nurture themselves by dropping organic materials into the substrate as they go through their seasonal cycles. The non-organic material that comprises the substrates is very porous, giving the roots a place to grow and helping to strengthen the system.
