Reflective Coatings

Garland’s high performance reflective coatings can turn a roof into an energy asset by helping to keep buildings cool. Potential net energy savings from applying a Garland reflective covering is significant. According to the E.P.A.’s ENERGY STAR® Program, individual buildings could get as high as a 50 percent energy savings with a Cool Roof.

1. Silver-Shield

Silver-Shield is a high-solids content, fibrated aluminum roof coating that combines the waterproofing capabilities of an asphalt roof coating with the reflectivity of aluminum paint. The high fiber content in Silver-Shield allows for the minor bridging of cracks in aged asphalt roof surfaces.

Silver-Shield contributes to a cooler roof and lower energy costs. A Silver-Shield application can reduce roof temperatures by 15°F. or more. As a result, the workload on the buildings air-conditioning units can be reduced by as much as one ton per 1,500 sq. feet. 2. Garla-Brite

Garla-Brite is a non-fibered, asphalt-based aluminum roof paint designed to be used over a variety of old and new roofing materials.

Garla-Brite contributes to a cooler roof and lower energy costs. A Garla-Brite application can reduce roof temperatures by 15°F or more. As a result, the workload on the buildings air-conditioning units can be reduced by as much as one ton per 1,500 sq. feet. 3. Pyramic

Pyramic is a white, non-toxic, ENERGY STAR® qualified fire retardant roof coating. It’s formulated from acrylic, self-curing latex polymers. Pyramic is a superior product for reflecting solar radiation and cooling your roof surface.

Pyramic is the solution for ultimate reduced energy costs. Pyramic has been formulated to significantly reduce the roof surface temperature thereby reducing the amount of heat transferred into the building’s interior. A white Pyramic roof coating can reduce roof temperatures by up to 100°F over that of a black roof. Please contact your local Garland Representative for specific application guidelines.
