The IT Developer Analyst will be responsible for analysis and development of existing ERP systems, and assisting in the development of corporate IT offerings, processes and procedures to support business needs. This position requires strong business skills and will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and occasionally modifying systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing in addition to supporting current ERP systems. The IT Developer Analyst will consult with users to identify current operating procedures, clarify ERP program objectives and have the ability to communicate within the IT team to aid in aligning company technology offerings with business processes.
- Provide on-going analysis and planning of the company’s business processes as they relate to Information Technology
- Possess the ability to plan over a 12-24 month time span and be able to lead, manage and develop a project team as needed
- Quickly understand the Sage X3 ERP system and how it relates to the business
- Identify the ERP system strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement
- Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
- Develop functional specifications and system design specifications related to the ERP system
- Lead testing efforts
- Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner
- Works with other analysts and developers to identify required changes
- Assists in the facilitation of team and client meetings
- Create reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in IT related field is strongly preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of IT Development Analyst experience is also preferred. Experience with at least one programming language (.Net, 4GL) is required. Must possess very strong quantitative and analytical skills along with the ability to convert data into valuable information. Must possess very strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, database apps). Knowledge of a variety of hardware, software, programming languages, and operation systems. Basic knowledge of network protocols and some experience with computer applications and operating systems. May be tested on appropriate computer skills as required. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers. Excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to learn new concepts/procedures quickly. Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise and effective manner with the customers, account representatives, company representatives, management, staff, and the public in face-to-face, one-on-one and group settings. Ability to use a telephone for communication. Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Use office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and facsimile machines. Ability to communicate in writing in a clear, concise and effective manner. Sit or stand for extended time periods. Hearing and vision required to be within normal ranges. Read at, above, and below shoulder height. Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch. Sufficient manual dexterity required to operate equipment. Tolerate in climate weather, including excessive heat and cold. Normal range of tolerance to household and other types of typical industrial/ construction chemicals and solvents.
