GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Director of Product Management oversees the Company’s product managers and engineering team, effectively marketing the technical and overall advantages of the Company’s product lines. This role manages all aspects of product lifecycles from initial research through execution to feedback, ensuring alignment with long-term company vision and revenue targets. Additionally, this position assists in successfully adapting to market forces and competitor strategies to drive market growth.

CORE AND ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Define product requirements (roadmaps, workflows) for introduction to development teams and write product requirements and usage scenarios

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized list of enhancements and features based on revenue impact and cost savings

  • Coordinate and ensure successful execution of release and launch plans for all new products while communicating project status to the execution team

  • Test and validate that functional specifications are being met during the development process

  • Provide expert advice to management, sales force, and contractors concerning products, approvals, competitive information, and roofing techniques

  • Assist key stakeholders in troubleshooting and problem-solving, including job site inspections and negotiating resolution terms

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns for new and existing products and represent the "voice of the customer"

  • Identify opportunities for new products, improvements, and market expansion while managing fire and wind ratings compliance testing

  • Develop meaningful partnerships with supply chain subsidiaries, key vendors, and industry leaders

  • Collect and analyze competitive information to educate the company on market advantages and weaknesses

  • Assist with due diligence efforts on new acquisitions and manage substantial capital improvement or construction endeavors

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Must possess at least 7+ years of experience in product management; preferably in roofing and/or cladding. Possession of a post-secondary degree in business, engineering, chemistry, construction management, or an architectural degree is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and the ability to determine solutions for customers is essential. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and a working knowledge of AutoCad and ERP systems are required. Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. use of protective gear). Driving is a requirement for this position; therefore, must have the ability to travel domestically via operating a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver license and driving record which is acceptable to our insurance provider. Must have a vehicle in good working condition and ensure it meets all safety, insurance, and legal requirements. The ability to travel by plane and/or overnight travel may also be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise, and effective manner with customers, company representatives, and the public in various settings. Ability to use a telephone for communication and maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance at the facility or other designated location(s). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and use office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, and facsimile machines. Sit, stand, and/or walk for extended time periods. Hearing and vision required to be within normal ranges, including the ability to accurately distinguish color variation. Read at, above, and below shoulder height and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. Sufficient manual dexterity required to operate equipment. Must be able to carry, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance routinely. Ability to climb ladders/extension ladders routinely and traverse different roof levels while adhering to fall protection requirements as necessary. Must tolerate various and changing weather and have a normal range of tolerance to typical industrial/construction chemicals and solvents. Must have the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle, and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle driving record. Ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and overnight travel required.
