Ultra-Shield Torch Applied Base Sheet

Ultra-Shield Torch Base is a nominal 110 mil (2.8 mm) SBS torch-applied membrane formulated as the Base Ply layer in a torch-applied roofing system. It has a burnable polypropylene backer, which melts when the torch generates sufficient heat. Ultra-Shield Torch Base is used as the Base Ply layer for torch-applied roofing systems. It is fully compatible with SBS torch-applied membranes.

Method	Description
Torch-Applied	Ultra-Shield Torch Base is suitable for heat fused (torch) and mechanically fastened applications only. Heat the underside of the membrane until the burn backer melts. At this point, the modified asphalt becomes tacky and the membrane is ready to roll into place. In the event that the membrane is mechanically fastened, install the membrane with approved fasteners in the number and pattern suited to the building and code requirements.
